We are honored to share that TuneTurn has been invited by the New Taipei City Design Center to join the “Sustainable Paper Lab” as a partner company, collaborating alongside renowned paper manufacturers such as YFY Paper Manufacturing and Guangxing Paper to accelerate the adoption of green materials.
As part of this collaboration, we introduced the origin, innovative process, and application cases of pineapple fiber paper, demonstrating how agricultural waste can be transformed into sustainable value through material innovation and design-driven development. Our goal is to raise awareness of how circular agriculture and environmentally friendly materials can create meaningful impact in everyday life and future industry.

Different Manufacturing Approaches: Commercial Paper vs. Eco-Friendly Paper
Most commercial paper is made from wood pulp and requires high-temperature cooking, bleaching, and multiple water-washing stages. Although this method produces consistent quality, it also results in high wastewater output and heavy energy consumption.Eco-friendly paper has become more common in recent years by incorporating recycled pulp or non-wood fibers. While it reduces some resource demand, most production still follows traditional paper-making processes.
TuneTurn’s Pineapple Fiber Paper Technology
Unlike traditional pulp production, TuneTurn’s pineapple fiber paper is made from locally sourced pineapple agricultural waste in Taiwan. Through a low-temperature film-blowing process, the fibers are transformed into paper without high-temperature cooking, without bleaching, and with zero wastewater discharge — significantly reducing carbon footprint and water consumption.
This technology preserves the natural color and texture of the fibers and allows customized thickness and tensile strength depending on application needs. Its commercial potential spans multiple fields:
• Sustainable packaging: gift boxes, paper bags, brand wrapping paper
• Cultural and creative goods: postcards, journal paper, paper sculpture art
• Business display materials: business cards, hangtags, product information cards
Beyond Paper — More Possibilities with Low-Temperature Film-Blown Pineapple Fiber
The low-temperature film-blowing technique is not limited to paper. It can be extended to thin films and composite materials, including:
Food-grade packaging films
Protective cushioning sheets for products
Hybrid biomaterials with waterproof and high-tensile properties
These innovations demonstrate how agricultural waste can evolve into next-generation sustainable materials.
Gratitude & Commitment
We are especially grateful for the support and encouragement from the Deputy Mayor of New Taipei City during the event — strengthening our confidence in bringing this Taiwan-born material innovation to the global stage.
Looking ahead, TuneTurn will continue to advance R&D and cross-industry collaboration, expanding pineapple fiber applications across diverse sectors and ensuring that every use becomes a meaningful act of protecting the planet.
