Cradle to Cradle

Agricultural Waste Recycling and
Plant Fiber 3D Printing Filament and Micro-Manufacturing System

Forgotten Materials, Ready to Begin Again

A bamboo grove, a piece of Japanese cedar, and a fragment of driftwood carried back to shore by the waves—all once grew from the land, carrying the memories and stories of their place of origin.

Yet after harvesting, pruning, and processing, many of these residual materials are treated as waste, left waiting to be collected and discarded.

We began to ask: Must the journey of a material truly end in disposal?

Through crushing, drying, refining, compounding, pelletizing, and filament extrusion, we transform bamboo fiber, Japanese cedar, and driftwood into plant-fiber filaments suitable for 3D printing. Each material retains its natural color, texture, and character, giving every spool a distinctive local identity.

No longer forgotten residues, these materials become creative media that carry the memory of the land. They can be transformed into everyday products, educational tools, design works, and possibilities yet to be imagined.

We hope that each creation can carry ideas without leaving a lasting burden on the environment. After fulfilling its purpose, it can gradually decompose, return to nature, and re-enter the cycle of life.

This is more than material research and development. It is an integrated plant-fiber micro-manufacturing system.

Starting with local resources, the system integrates material processing, pelletizing, filament extrusion, 3D printing, educational展示, and product development—enabling each community to gradually build its own green manufacturing capabilities.

Sustainability should not remain only an idea. It should become a circular manufacturing process that people can experience,
operate, and continue to develop with their own hands.

Residual resources are understood in a new way.
The stories of the land continue.
Creativity begins again within the community.

The end of a material is not disposal, but the beginning of another journey.

Plant-Fiber 3D Printing Filament

Plant-Fiber 3D Printing Filament transforms natural fibers into materials that shape the future.

Developed by Jun Yuan Co., Ltd., our plant-fiber 3D printing filament is a sustainable material that merges natural resources with innovative technology. By recycling agricultural waste—such as bamboo fiber and pineapple leaf fiber—and processing it through extrusion, we have successfully created a plant-based filament that combines environmental responsibility, printability, and refined visual texture.

Integrated Agricultural Waste–Based 3D Printing Filament System

The Integrated Agricultural Waste–Based 3D Printing Filament System utilizes agricultural and forestry residues—
including bamboo fiber, Japanese cedar, and driftwood—as raw materials. Through a series of processes,
including crushing, drying, compounding and pelletizing, filament extrusion,
and 3D printing, materials that might otherwise be discarded are transformed into renewable 3D printing filaments.

By integrating material research and development, filament production, equipment implementation, and product applications,
the system establishes a small-scale, localized circular manufacturing model.
It enables agricultural and forestry waste to be reused within local communities and applied in educational exhibitions,
cultural and creative design, everyday products, and corporate sustainability initiatives—
creating circular value from discarded resources to regenerated products.

Extended Applications |
The Diverse Possibilities of Plant Fiber 3D Printing Cables

1 | Sustainable Brand Figurines and Exhibits: Plant-based fiber yarns have natural colors and a rustic feel, resulting in printed products with a clay-like texture. They are especially suitable for brands to create small figurines, souvenirs, design models, and exhibition props with an eco-friendly image, which not only enhances the quality but also conveys the concept of sustainability.

2 | The teaching content, which combines educational promotion and STEAM curriculum materials with 3D printing and environmentally friendly materials, allows students to understand the practice of the circular economy from "material source" to "finished product printing". It is very suitable for schools, educational institutions, environmental education centers and other units to promote green education and maker spirit.

3|Cultural and creative products and household items made through 3D printing of plant fibers, such as business card holders, small storage boxes, decorations, and plant containers, can showcase a natural style and conform to the trend of sustainability. They are especially suitable for market brands, gift design, and home living product development.

4 | Architectural and Industrial Design Prototyping: For architects, designers, and creators, plant fiber filaments offer a new option: combining print stability with a natural visual effect, making them suitable for proposal models, prototypes, and material experiments, thus making proposals more persuasive.

5 | Social Enterprise × Environmental Project Applications Junyuan also collaborates with local governments and non-profit organizations to introduce plant fiber printing materials to rural areas or social welfare sites for the production of visual teaching aids, recycled design exhibits, or as an educational platform for social design, thus realizing the social value of materials.
