Participating in Taiwan’s plastic reduction and circular design movement through zero-plastic plant fiber materials

In response to the growing global challenge of microplastic pollution, Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment and the Ocean Affairs Council jointly held the press conference “Land and Sea Join Forces to Build a Monitoring and Control Defense Line Against Microplastics.” The event was led by Minister Peng Chi-ming of the Ministry of Environment and Minister Kuan Bi-ling of the Ocean Affairs Council, highlighting a cross-ministerial effort to establish a comprehensive microplastic monitoring and control system from land to sea.
Through lifestyle transformation, scientific monitoring, source reduction, and environmental cleanup, the initiative aims to promote a more complete and integrated approach to plastic reduction governance.
Tune n Turn Ltd. was honored to be invited to attend this press conference and to showcase our long-term research and development in zero-plastic plant fiber products and sustainable material applications, including pineapple fiber sustainable agricultural modular models and bamboo fiber 3D printing filament. These applications demonstrate the potential of transforming agricultural and forestry plant fibers from discarded resources into low-carbon, zero-plastic, and designable materials.
The issue of microplastics is not limited to the ocean. It is closely connected to our daily lives, product design, material choices, and industrial manufacturing. The “land-to-sea” governance approach promoted by the Ministry of Environment and the Ocean Affairs Council reflects that plastic reduction cannot rely solely on end-of-pipe cleanup. Instead, change must begin at the source—from product development, material selection, and consumer behavior.

At Tune n Turn, we believe that true plastic reduction is not simply about “using a little less plastic.” It requires us to rethink the origin and end-of-life of materials:
How can agricultural and forestry plant fibers, once regarded as waste, be transformed into sustainable materials that can be designed, manufactured, used, and eventually return to the environment in a more friendly way?
From agricultural waste regeneration and material research to product design and ESG applications, Tune n Turn continues to place design, materials, and circularity at the core of our work. We are committed to promoting diverse applications of plant fiber materials such as pineapple fiber and bamboo fiber, allowing circular design to move beyond concept and enter industries, education, everyday life, and public policy.
Moving forward, Tune n Turn will continue to invest in zero-plastic material research and cross-sector collaboration, working together with government agencies, schools, enterprises, and communities to support Taiwan’s plastic reduction movement and provide more practical solutions for environmentally friendly products and sustainable industrial transformation.
Let zero-plastic be more than a choice—let it become a possibility for the future of life and industry.
