Industry–Academia Collaboration | Tune N Turn Invited to National United University for a Sustainable Design Lecture

Tune N Turn Co., Ltd. was recently invited to the Department of Industrial Design at National United University to deliver a lecture on sustainable design, engaging in meaningful exchange with faculty and students. We are truly honored by this opportunity.

This session centered on “The Practical Implementation of Sustainable Design,” sharing insights drawn from real-world industry experience. We discussed the actual challenges and constraints encountered in advancing sustainable materials and circular design—including material instability, manufacturing transition difficulties, and the challenge of building market acceptance.

During the lecture, we further explained how an integrated approach—combining material development, process optimization, and design translation—can gradually overcome technical and application barriers. Through this process, agricultural and forestry residues that were once difficult to utilize are transformed into products with both functional value and market viability, demonstrating how sustainable design can move from concept to real-world application.

From Design Education to Industry Integration

At Tune N Turn, we firmly believe that design education should go beyond form-making and conceptual exploration. It should guide students to understand real industry conditions and constraints, cultivating the ability to translate ideas into practical, implementable solutions.

Through this exchange, we hope to provide students with perspectives beyond conventional design thinking—encouraging them to see design not just as proposals, but as solutions that can truly enter the market and respond to societal needs.

By fostering dialogue between academia and industry, we aim to inspire new possibilities in sustainable materials, circular economy, and integrated design, while nurturing the next generation of designers with cross-disciplinary thinking.

Congratulations on Outstanding Achievement in the STEAM Education Program

We would also like to extend our sincere congratulations to the Department of Industrial Design at National United University for its outstanding performance in the STEAM Education Program.

The department’s excellence in teaching and its strong capability in interdisciplinary integration clearly demonstrate both the depth and forward-thinking vision of its design education—truly admirable.

Looking Ahead | Strengthening Collaboration for Sustainable Design

This lecture represents not only a sharing of experience, but also a meaningful connection between industry and education.

Tune N Turn looks forward to deepening future collaborations with National United University through continued practical engagement and joint research, working together to advance both design education and sustainable industry development.
