Let local green bamboo not only grow ā but become a force of circularity.
In response to the large amount of pruning waste generated from green bamboo cultivation, the New Taipei City Government has partnered with Tune n Turn Co., Ltd.Ā to launch the Green Bamboo Circular Reuse Design Project.With agricultural bamboo residues at its core, the project integrates design thinking and material innovation technologiesĀ to redefine the value and applications of green bamboo.
ā Core Objectives of the Project
ā»ļø Promote the recycling and reuse of green bamboo waste to realize a localized circular economy.
š§© Introduce design-driven development to create regenerated bamboo-fiber materials and product applications.
š± Establish a demonstrative framework connecting āagricultural waste Ć design Ć social value.ā
š¦Support bamboo farmers by reducing open-field burning and building an environmentally friendly bamboo industry value chain.
š¬ As the design implementation partner, Tune n Turn Co., Ltd. has driven the following outcomes:
š¹Development of fully compostable green bamboo fiber pelletized material.
š¹Designed biodegradable bamboo-fiber products, such as tableware and travel cups.
š¹ Integrated local cultural imagery to develop brand visuals with strong regional identity.
š¹ Facilitated the establishment of a publicāprivate collaboration platform for green bamboo material applications in New Taipei City.
š¹ Produced green bamboo design product samples and conducted mass-production testing to move toward commercialization.

This project is not merely about resource reuse ā it is a real practice of local circular design.Through the integration of technology, design, and policy, we aim to ensure that green bamboo is more than bambooĀ ā it becomes a tangible expression of New Taipei Cityās sustainability agenda and local revitalization.
